Marijuana Will Be Legal In Canada By July 2018

The Justin Trudeau government is announcing new legislation in April that it will legalize all forms of marijuana in Canada by July 1, 2018.

CTN News learned that the new legislation will be made public during the week of April 10 & will follow the advice of a federally chosen task-force which was chaired by ex- liberal Justice Minister Anne McLellan.

Bill Blair, a former Toronto law enforcement chief who has been stick-handling this marijuana file for the administration, briefed the Liberal group on the roll out arrangement as well as the legislation throughout the caucus meeting this coming weekend, according to a superior governmental official that spoke to CTN News on the order of secrecy

Provinces to have full Control of ALL Sales

The feds will be in total charge and making sure that the country’s marijuana supply is always safe as well as secure and that Ottawa will have the power to license producers.

However the provinces reserve the right in decision making of how all the marijuana is dispersed and sold. Regional governments will also have the right to set any price of the product.

So far we know that Ottawa will have the power to set a minimum age of 18 to buy all marijuana products, the provinces reserve the option of establishing a higher age limit if they so desire at any point and time.

Only 4 plants per Household

As for Canadians wanting to grow their own marijuana, they will be limited to only four plants per any household.

Legalizing marijuana was one of the more controversial promises made by Justin Trudeau, as he campaigned to become prime minister of Canada.
