US Treasury Issues New Clarifications on Trump’s Cuba Policy

As Trump’s administration continues to work on regulations to implement its new policy toward Cuba, the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued clarifications Tuesday on the US provisional policy toward the island. Luxury yacht trips to Cuba Trips by luxury yachts to Cuba have flourished since September 2015, when the Treasury Department opened the door for the transport of passengers to the island by sea. When President Donald Trump announced his new policy toward Cuba in Miami on June 16, OFAC said that the only category of travel authorized by American travelers that would be affected would be individual travel. Trump said “such travel would be prohibited” because travelers have used that category to disguise trips that are purely tourism and will be prohibited by the United States. However, in its new “Frequently Asked Questions” publication, OFAC says, without further explanation, that “The new policy will also affect certain categories of educational trave

Senate Rejects Repeal of Obamacare

The Senate on Wednesday rejected a proposal to repeal much of the Affordable Medical Services Act and envisioned giving legislators two years to develop a surrogate measure. In two separate ballots in less than 24 hours, lawmakers rejected different approaches to amending the 2010 law known as Obamacare. But many Republicans have said they are willing to approve a narrower measure that rejects the mandate to buy health insurance and the medical device tax. Republican leaders have emphasized that it is a way the Senate can start negotiations with the House, and perhaps the only way they can maintain an initiative launched seven years ago to dismantle Obamacare. Several lawmakers acknowledged Wednesday that they were not convinced by the proposal, but suggested they still be able to back it up. “It’s a way to discuss it in conference,” said Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican for South Carolina. “That’s not the solution to the problem.” But Republicans did not seem to have an

Breakfast Time Is Actually BULLSHIT

The concept that breakfast every day is “The most significant mealtime during the day.” will no longer resonates along with me. It’s been 12 months right now, and I’ve had perhaps a couple of morning meal experiences, mainly for sociable events or sporting events. Huge Breakfast every day I definitely believe breakfast is essential in the event you lead an energetic life-style, work outdoors and or need to take drugs with food items. But for the greater degree a high-carb morning meal may be the slippery downward slope to over-eating. Whenever we get up each morning, the blood sugar is always substantial. You aren’t craving for food at least to start with. A glucose high is usually connected with a sugar low. Having breakfast every day undoubtedly results in a heightened regularity of eating. Holding off on breakfast has health advantages. Decreased heartbeat, more quickly recuperation from injuries, cleansed digestive system. It’s no wonder our urges for food drop significan

Dangers of Energy Drinks

In April, a 16-year-old South Carolina high school student took a McDonald’s latte, a large Mountain Dew, and a 16 ounce energy drink in a two-hour time period. He fainted in the art class and before the bell rang to end the school day, he had died. According to the coroner, the official cause of Davis Cripe’s death was a caffeine-induced cardiac event. Caffeine in the teenager’s system disrupted performance and finally stopped his heart. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18 do not exceed 100 milligrams of caffeine per day, the amount of caffeine contained in a cup of coffee. The organization also recommends that teens do not consume energy drinks, although a 2011 study reveals that between 30 and 50 percent admit to consuming it. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not regulate the amount of caffeine in energy drinks, but some contain up to 300 milligrams per serving, or three times the recommended limit. “It’s a

Two former top US intelligence officials criticized President Donald Trump on Friday for failing to address Russia for intervening in the presidential election, and one of them wondered if the president’s real purpose is to make Russia “big again” . Neither former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper nor former CIA director John Brennan hid their anger over Trump’s derogatory remarks to intelligence agencies which concluded that Moscow deliberately interfered with last year’s presidential election And who tried to sow discord in the United States. When asked if he thinks Trump takes Russia’s threat seriously, Clapper said he sometimes wonders if the White House agenda is focused on “making Russia big again,” matching the motto of the Trump campaign “Let’s make big to the United States again”. In a long discussion at the Aspen Security Forum, Clapper and Brennan said Trump’s advisors must have been more hesitant to meet with a lawyer and other Russian characters. In Ju

Cuba Businessmen Say Trump Policy Hurts Private Businesses

Cuban businessmen say that the policy announced by US President Donald Trump to the island is already hurting small private businesses, the opposite of their stated intention. “We are very worried, we have already canceled three large groups” since Trump’s announcement in June, said Nidialys Acosta, who runs a classic car taxi service with her husband Julio. Acosta is part of a delegation of eight small business owners who traveled to Washington to present their case. Trump announced last month in Miami before a mostly Cuban-American crowd the cancellation of the initiative of the government of his predecessor, Barack Obama, to boost relations with Cuba allowing trips to the island and direct flights and cruises from the United States. The president considered reducing sanctions against Cuba during the Obama administration as a “completely unilateral agreement,” promising to help the Cuban people and the private sector – and strengthen democracy and human rights on the isla

Why Cuba’s Future may well be more Appealing Compared to U.S.

If the Trump Government don’t ruin Cuba’s changeover, it might become a model welfare democracy. When someone was to tell me last month, that I’d devote my current visit to Cuba worrying over the missile crisis I’d have told them I am not that sort of historian. However here i was at Old Havana at the begining of July, thinking of whether an additional missile crisis midway around the world would likely result in the world warfare which was so barely prevented here 50 years back. Needless to say the missiles under consideration these days are typically in North Korea, not necessarily within Cuba. Although the fact that Fifty five years following the Cuban Missile Crisis and also over a generation taken from the fall of this Berlin Wall, Cuba and the United States continue to be involved in disputes profoundly grounded in Cold War governmental policies as well as mentalities says a great deal about the similar condition of both cultures and also the divergent paths which they’re

The Best and the Worst of the Human Beings in Florida

In reading the most popular news of the week, I see that the reality of life operates according to the Taoist principle of yin and yang, referring to the duality present in everything existing in the universe. Although not absolute, everything has its opposite, especially human behavior and moral rule. To recognize the light we must lose ourselves in the dark and, to know what the cold is, we must feel the heat. Endowed with will and free will, human beings have the power to choose, through decisions made in a jiffy, actions and reactions, on which side of the coin we prefer to coinage. It was evidenced, almost simultaneously, in a beach of Florida and a street of West Kendall. Jesus Esquivel had run out of battery and was angry, as if the apocalypse had come. He called the aid association to the AAA driver enraged, as the battery required for his Cadillac Escalade was not within the agency’s reach. He proffered insults and vulgarities, demanding the impossible at that moment.

United states President Donald Trump’s eldest son confessed Tuesday that he had met in a 2016 election campaign with a lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaia, presented as a possible emissary with the Russian government, who could supply compromising information about then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
