Shakira Dedicates Violin to Young Venezuelan

Colombian singer Shakira signed a violin with a dedication for young Venezuelan actor Wuilly Arteaga on Friday, who has become a symbol of resistance in Venezuela for playing her violin amid the tear gas launched by the Bolivarian National Guard who have been on the streets for almost two months demanding the resignation of President Nicolás Maduro.

Shakira was invited in Miami to the Los Pichy Boys radio program, La Gozadera, where Maikel Rodríguez and Alejandro González showed her the violin and asked her to sign it.

“It gives me goosebumps,” Shakira said as she heard the unusual request and story of Arteaga.

The young man became a social networking celebrity when he interpreted the theme Alma Llanera on May 8 in Caracas as he walked towards the military to send “a message of peace”.

Alejandro Gonzalez told CTN News that after hearing the incident “we decided to call for a replacement.”

“The opportunity came as Shakira came to the program and was very willing to autograph it,” said Gonzalez. “He said the fight was for everyone and he appreciated what everyone is are doing for Venezuela.”

Shakira is in Miami for the release of her new album “El dorado”.

A doctor in Venezuela gave a violin to Arteaga, and now from Miami they send another, autographed by none other than Shakira, so that it continues to inspire peace amid the chaos in Venezuelan streets.
