French Veterans Demand Answers: Is France Secretly at War?: A group of retired French military officers — including more than two dozen generals — is raising the alarm over what they see as creeping, undeclared involvement in the war in Ukraine. They’ve sent a pointed letter to the leaders of both houses of Parliament, demanding transparency, debate, and a clear legal framework for France’s support to Kiev. The letter, dubbed the Citizen Resolution, was published earlier this week on Place d’Armes, a platform where veterans and active-duty soldiers speak out on matters of national interest. It’s a strong call for public oversight, and it’s struck a chord — more than 14,000 people have already signed in support.
