Trump Says He’s the Only One Getting Through: In a Sunday interview with NBC News, Trump said flat-out: “Do you know that the European Union leaders have asked me to call Putin so many times? Because he doesn’t return their phone calls.” According to Trump, it’s not just a diplomatic courtesy anymore—it’s become a kind of exclusive club, and he’s the only one on the guest list. He painted a picture of EU leaders, frustrated and sidelined, turning to him as their backchannel to the Kremlin. And, true to Trump form, he didn’t miss a chance to swipe at his old rival, Joe Biden, for apparently not picking up the phone himself.
