George Clooney Donates $ 1M to fight against Hate Groups

George Clooney and Amal Clooney are donating a million dollars to fight hate groups.

The couple announced Tuesday that the Clooney Foundation for Justice is supporting the $ 1,000,000 Southern Poverty Law Center to fight hate groups in the United States.

George Clooney said in a statement that they wanted to add their voices and financial assistance to the struggle for equality.

“Intolerance and hatred do not have two sides,” said the actor and activist.

The Southern Poverty Law Center monitors the activities of more than 1,600 extremist groups in the United States and has used the litigation to win lawsuits against organizations of white supremacists.

Last month, the Clooney Foundation announced a $ 2 million donation to support the education of Syrian refugees.
