The Importance of Pregnancy and Abortion Policies in the Military: Understanding the New US Navy Policy 

The new policy provides travel costs and paid leave for elective abortions for its service members. According to the policy, the sailors and marines can now request and receive travel costs and paid leave for elective abortions, subject to the approval of their commanding officer. 

 The policy further states that the commanding officer must ensure that the service member receives adequate counseling and medical care before and after the procedure. 

This includes ensuring that the service member receives all necessary medical care and follow-up care, as well as ensuring that they receive adequate emotional support during this difficult time.
