Trump says he has “Something in Common” with Chancellor Angela Merkel

President Donald Trump said on Friday that he had “something in common” with German Chancellor Angela Merkel: both of them, according to him, have been spied on by former President Barack Obama.

“On the wiretaps of the previous administration, at least we have something in common, maybe,” Trump said during her joint press conference with Merkel. EFEUSA

Trump also reiterated his “strong support for NATO,” but stressed that it is necessary for all member countries to “pay their fair share,” after meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“Many nations owe vast amounts of money (to NATO), and it is very unfair to the US. These nations must pay what they owe, “Trump told a joint news conference with Merkel.
