“Applying now, while in the off-season, will ensure more quicker services,” IRS Commissioner of Wages in addition to Investment Kenneth Corbin informed a news conference.
The renewal procedure for 2018 that began Wednesday, 3 months earlier than last year, is for tax payers who’ve not used their ITIN on a federal tax return at least one time within the last three consecutive years and will expire on the 31st Of December 2017, in addition to the ITINs with the middle digits 70, 71, 72 or 80, which also expire at the end of the year.
These taxpayers have the option of renewing the ITIN for the entire family at one time, as well as those who received an IRS renewal notice and the family members have an ITIN that does not have these numbers in the middle.

However, Corbin urged the nearly 1.3 million affected contributors to renew their ITIN before receiving the mail reminder in August.
