No matter what, you’ll likely need to customize your CRM at some point in the future. With Dynamics, it’s easy to have a developer tweak things. That’s because Dynamics uses the .NET framework, Java, and HTML. Meanwhile, Salesforce is written in Apex. This proprietary programming language can make customization a challenge, and it’s not always easy to find a developer than can work with Apex. Plus, transitioning from external to in-house hosting is easy with Dynamics 365.
Extra Fees
We’ll be honest with you: Salesforce is known for being expensive. They tend to tack on extra fees wherever they can, which makes calculating overhead difficult. Meanwhile, Dynamics 365 CRM makes their costs clear up front. Adding an extra GB of storage with Salesforce can run you as much as $250, whereas Dynamics charges a mere $10.
Hosting
One of the great things about Dynamics is the variety of deployment options: you can run your CRM with on-site hosting, private hosting, or even cloud hosting. Salesforce only offers cloud hosting, which can be a problem for many organizations.
Analyzing Data
These days, data is responsible for all sorts of company-wide decisions. Being able to analyze the data in your CRM is essential. Unfortunately, Salesforce users have to manually refresh their data dashboards in order to see up to date results. Dynamics 365 users don’t have this problem, with customized dashboards that are automatically updated. And, if your organization runs Office 365, you can even embed Power BI reports directly in your system.
