Things get complicated As North Korea Threatens to Cancel Meeting

North Korea is now threatening to cancel the highly anticipated summit between its supreme leader, Kim Jong-un, and the president of the United States. UU., Donald Trump, in Singapore on June 12th.

The reason given, statements by National Security Adviser John Bolton in which he recommends that Pyongyang adopt the “Libyan model” of denuclearization.

A maneuver with which the regime of the North seeks to pressure Washington to demand that the White House offers gestures of goodwill and reach the meeting from a position of strength.

“If the United States corners us and unilaterally demands that we get rid of our nuclear program, we will stop having an interest in the talks and we will have to reconsider whether we accept the next US-North Korean summit,” the deputy minister’s statement, published by the official KCNA news agency.
