Hillary Clinton Slams Trump’s Speech as She Teaches How It Should Have Been Delivered

Hillary Clinton appeared for the first time on the show “The Late Show” on Tuesday Night after her presidential election loss. The appearance was a part of her book tour where she is promoting the memoir of 2016 campaign, “What happened”.

Hosted by Stephen Colbert, “The Late Show” witnessed a lot of heat from Hillary Clinton where she continued to slam U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Talking about how Putin interfered in the U.S. presidential elections, she stated he held a grudge against her due to their clash on various occasions while she was serving as Secretary of State.

Sharing an incident on the show, she blamed the Russian leader of “manspreading” during a meeting. For non-American citizens, the term is specifically used when a man sits with his legs spread taking up more space than usual. If you’ve ever traveled in the subway, you might know what the term meant or may as well have experienced it firsthand.

Clinton went on her word parade shaming Putin stating how her gender “agitated him”.

When questioned by the show host on Putin’s dislike of her at a personal level, Clinton didn’t keep anything to herself.

“I think it’s part of his worldview, which is all tied up with his anger, his disappointment in the collapse of the Soviet Union, and his feeling that we’re his number one rival.” – Hillary Clinton on Vladimir Putin.

Putin wasn’t the only one on her radar though. Host Stephen asked Clinton to share her thoughts on Trump’s U.N. Speech earlier in the day.

Donald Trump’s speech covered a wide range of topics where he primarily attacked Kim Jong-Un calling him with the nickname “Rocket man” and how they may destroy North Korea if they attack U.S. or its allies.

“I thought it was very dark, dangerous. Not the kind of message that the leader of the greatest nation in the world should be delivering” – Hillary Clinton

She felt the speech should have been dealt with democracy while still keeping talks in priority.

“You are both required to stand up for the values of what we believe in — democracy and opportunity — as a way to demonstrate clearly the United States remains the beacon that we want it to be, while of course, when you face dangerous situations like what is happening in North Korea, to make it clear your first approach should always be diplomatic.” , Tweet Snippet as shared by CBS.

Clinton shows host Colbert How she would have delivered the Speech

Slamming Trump, Clinton further went ahead on how she would have delivered the speech, had she been there.

“What I’d hoped the President would have said was something along the lines of ‘We view this as dangerous to our allies, to our region and even to our country. We call on all nations to work with us to try to end the threat posed by Kim Jung Un.’ And not call him Rocket Man, the old Elton John song, but to say it clearly: we will not tolerate any attacks on our friends or ourselves.” she told Stephen Colbert.

Ending the Interview, they cheered to her new book “What happened” with a glass of Chardonnay, which she told helped her deal with the surprise loss of her 2016 election.
