Before its official launch on 18th September i.e., today, Google unveiled the new payment app called Tez available for download now on Android and iOS Smartphones. Cashing in on the increasing digital economy users, Google has also decided to claim its share with the latest exclusive app for India.

Tez, a Hindi language word for “fast” in English aims to make the digital payments as fast and easy as it is with cash payments. With currently support from 55 major leading banks of the country and UPI as the backing power, Tez may hold the power to appeal to millions of users overnight.

Apart from having the Google branding, Tez app has many other features that make it different from other competitors like Paytm, BHIM or PhonePe. Let’s first talk how this app is gaining momentum in various regions of India.

Multi-Language Support in Tez

Tez supports English and seven other regional languages from India that include Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu. This means now sending money is even easier to understand and use.

The other selling point of this payment app from Google is its exclusivity for Indian Market.

Three Methods to Make Payments with Tez

With Tez, you have three methods to make payments anywhere. First, use UPI ID given by the govt. In Second method, simply scan the QR code at the merchant and make the payment. This method is quite similar to the one you use in Paytm.

The third method is also quite simple. Just enter the phone number and send the money directly to the merchant’s bank.

Another noteworthy feature from Google’s payment app is the Cash Mode feature. Calling it “as easy as making payments through cash”, this feature uses a proximity sensor and audio feature to enable payments for people using Tez nearby.
