Trump confirms his support for Republican candidate Roy Moore accused of sexual assault

Washington (Conspiracy Talk News) – President Donald Trump reiterated on Sunday his support for Republican Senator for Alabama Roy Moore, despite allegations that he sexually harassed minors several decades ago, and criticized Democratic rival Doug Jones.

“The last thing we need in Alabama and the US Senate is a puppet of (Chuck) Schumer and (Nancy) Pelosi,” the president wrote on Twitter, referring to the heads of the Democratic opposition in the Senate and House of Representatives.

Although he did not explicitly name ex-judge Moore, Trump said Jones is “weak” in his policies against crime, the border, military issues and war veterans.

“And he wants to raise taxes up to heaven; Jones would be a disaster. “

Several members of the Republican Party withdrew their support for Mr. Moore, after numerous complaints were made by women who accuse him of sexually harassing them when they were teenagers and he was in his thirties in the early 70’s.

Moore, who has denied all allegations, was the favorite for the Senate’s December 12th election until the scandal erupted, and several Republicans believe that if he is elected, he should be dismissed.

Mitch McConnell, a Republican leader in the Senate, urged Moore to withdraw his candidacy, saying: “I believe those women.”

But Trump has repeatedly emphasized that Moore “totally denies” the accusations. “You also have to listen to him,” he said.
