Trump denounces the “twisted fantasies” of Kim Jong-Un

US President Donald Trump said on Friday at the Asia-Pacific economic forum that Asia can not live under the threat of North Korea and the “twisted fantasies of a dictator,” in reference to Kim Jong-Un.

“The future of this region and its wonderful people can not be held hostage by the twisted fantasies of violent conquest and nuclear blackmail of a dictator,” he said in a speech in Danang, the Vietnamese city where the APEC forum’s annual summit is being held.

Trump also called on countries in the region to “be united and to understand that each step that the North Korean regime takes  towards more weapons is a step that leads to more and more danger.”

On Thursday, the US president already asked China during a visit to the country to “act quickly” against North Korea.

Washington has been working for months to convince its allies in Asia to oppose the Pyongyang regime, a matter that will be debated by the leaders of several countries present on Friday in the APEC forum, among others, the Russian president and the Japanese prime minister will be attending.
