The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, states her opinion regarding Israel’s administered church plan for its taxation.
Mogherini said that Jerusalem is a holy city for three religions, stressing the need for this matter to be resolved as soon as possible, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
“We hope that a quick solution will be found for this. This is a holy city for all three religions,” said Mogherini at a joint media conference in Brussels with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.
The High Representative announced today that the Arab Foreign Ministers who is in Brussels with the Secretary General of the Arab Union Ahmad Abu Gajdo, will discuss the peace process in the Middle East also.
Speaking of developments between Israel and Palestine, Mogherini said they are “close to the two-state solution” that has the capital of Quds and added that “all Israeli settlements are still illegal”.
Church leaders called the recent Israeli measures as “systematic and unprecedented attack against Christians in the Holy Land.”
“This reminds us all of laws of a similar nature which were enacted against the Jews during a dark period in Europe,” the statement added.

“It should become a symbol of peace”. On the other hand, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Safadi expressed his pleasure for the Arab League and EU summit, adding that the Arab world has agreed that the US decision to recognize it as “the capital city of Israel “is outlawed.
Stressing that the strong and steadfast support of the Arab world is continuing for permanent and inclusive peace. Safadi said that this peace can only be achieved with a two-way solution, where the East will be the capital of Palestine,” as this should become a symbol of peace, but unfortunately this is not possible while it is held up and held hostage to fear and despair,” Safadi says.
Recalling that the Tomb of the Holy Sepulcher in Quds after more than a thousand years has been closed for the first, time in order to react against the plan of the Israeli commune of Quds to tax the churches and real estate of these churches.
Safadi is calling for action against Israel’s unlawful and unilateral decisions.
