Trump Dodges Questions on Russia Sanctions, He Says ‘It’s Time for Our Country to Move on’

On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump played down the ramifications against the Russian interference during the elections, saying it is “time for our country to move on to Bigger and better things” in a statement he released just after an hour after President Obama announced sweeping sanctions against Russia.

Trump dodges the questions for week voiced skepticism about Russia’s role in the hacking of democratic email accounts and the related hostile actions. He added that he would seek in order to learn more about the situation next week.

Trump said in a statement:

Nevertheless, in the interest of our country and its great people, I will meet with leaders of the intelligence community next week in order to be updated on the facts of this situation.

The gestures of Trump put him at the odds with the other Republican Congressional leaders, who has help Russia for the respective actions. Whereas the President’s retaliation here includes the removal of around 25 Russian government officials and the sanctions against the state agencies and people held responsible for the hacks.

Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) wrote in a joint statement:

We intend to lead the effort in the new Congress to impose stronger sanctions on Russia.

Sean Spicer, press secretary of the incoming White House, said :

If the United States has clear proof of anyone interfering with our elections, we should make that known”. Right now we need to see further facts.

He added, “I think you have a lot of folks on the left who continue to undermine the legitimacy of his win and the nature of how big that win was.” and called the actions ‘Unfortunate’.
