President Trump Demands Death Sentence for New York Terrorist

President Donald Trump on Wednesday called for a death sentence for Sayfullo Saipov, the suspected terrorist sympathizer of the Islamic State (IS) who killed eight people in a multiple automotive hit within the streets of New York on Tuesday.

“The New York terrorist was happy when he asked to hang the IS flag in his hospital room. He killed 8 people, severely injured 12. He should receive the death penalty! “Trump said in a message on Twitter.

Saipov was wounded by a shot from the police after driving over a crowd of people with a vehicle and is now under surveillance in a New York hospital.

When he was interrogated for the first time in the hospital, he asked that a flag of that terrorist group be placed in his room, and he showed no remorse for the attack he allegedly carried out.

Although the state of New York does not contemplate capital punishment in it’s penal system, which has life imprisonment as the maximum penalty, however, Saipov could receive a death sentence in a federal trial for terrorism.

In fact, one of the terrorists who attempted back in 2013,  the Boston Marathon bombing, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was sentenced to death through the federal system of Justice as a terrorist, since the state of Massachusetts does not have the standard death penalty either.

Behind the Barred Windows: How Afghanistan’s War on Drugs Became a Battle for Souls

Behind the Barred Windows: How Afghanistan’s War on Drugs Became a Battle for Souls : If you walk through Kabul today, it might look cleaner than it did a few years ago. The parks once filled with men sprawled under the sun, the bridges littered with used needles and broken glass — they’re mostly empty now. Kids are playing again in Shahr-e-Naw Park. But behind the locked doors and barred windows of the city’s rehab centers, another battle rages — one far more complicated than it looks from the outside.
