One student shot another Friday morning in a high school in Ocala Florida

The Marion District Sheriff’s Office mentioned the shooting occurred in Forest Highschool on Maricamp Street. The presumed shooter, likewise an enrollee, is now within custody, police have confirmed.

Detectives claimed the wounded pupil did not go through life-threatening wounds, and also that they are uncertain if the shooting was deliberate or not at this time.

The wounded child was quickly transported to a local medical facility.

Police say that the student’s personal “injuries are in no way life lethal.”

Marion Region school authorities pointed out, they are transporting all of Forest High school pupils to 1st Baptist Church, on SE Maricamp Street within Ocala. Parent or guardians are asked to avoid heading to the school to pick up their kids.

” We are asking the citizens to avoid the area. Parents please stand by for further direction from the school on how to pick up your children,” Police stated.

Gov. Rick Scott responded to the shooting Friday early in the morning by means of his formal Twitter account.

” I was just briefed by @MCSOFlorida Sheriff Billy Woods on today’s shooting in Ocala. I have also spoken with @EducationFL Commissioner Pam Stewart and @fdlepio Commissioner Rick Swearingen. I’ve offered any state support to Marion County they may need,” Scott stated.

All of Marion District schools are under a code yellow for a safety measure, however authorities pointed out there is no risk to other school.
