Trump, willing to meet with Mueller about Russia “under oath”

WASHINGTON (Conspiracy Talk News) – The president, Donald Trump, said on Wednesday he was willing to meet “under oath” with special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who leads investigations into possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election where the tycoon was the winner.

“I’m looking forward to it. I would do it under oath. I would love to do it as soon as possible, “said the president when asked by a group of journalists at the White House.

Trump also said he expects to speak with Mueller in the next two or three weeks, explaining that the details are being resolved by his lawyers.

The president also said he does not remember asking FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe who had voted in the 2016 election, referring to information published by The Washington Post that the magnate questioned the top official about his ideological tendencies.

According to the newspaper, which cites several sources on condition of anonymity knowing what happened, McCabe said he did not vote.

Trump also expressed his anger at McCabe for the several hundred thousand dollars in donations that his wife, a Democrat, received for his failed candidacy for the state Senate of Virginia in 2015 by a political action committee controlled by a friend that was close to Hillary Clinton, the former electoral rival.

The interaction, which supposedly took place last year, could be of interest to Mueller, who is investigating whether the president sought to obstruct the federal investigation into supposed Russia’s electoral meddling.

In recent days, rumours of a possible Mueller interview with Trump have increased, while the special prosecutor’s team is closing the gap by questioning people close to his circle and even his cabinet, such as Attorney General Jeff Sessions. .

“We’ll see what happens,” Trump said earlier this month when asked if he would commit to testifying.

The president added at that time, that he thought it “unlikely to even have an interview”, since, to date, no collusion with Russia has been proven.
